There are countless children in this country who do not have a stable home and loving parents. Children who manage to get adopted have the potential for a much happier and more successful life in the long-run. However, many social conservatives feel that it is much better for these children to remain wards of the state rather than to be adopted into the stable home of a loving, same-sex couple.
